follows one family's progress through the crisis and life readjustment
upon discovering they have a mentally ill family member. Information
is provided for families ranging form guidelines for selecting a good
therapist, to suggestions about alternative care facilities that may be
available in the community, to the value of advocacy both for the ill
family member and for others in the family. The
video stimulates thought and discussion among families in self-help and
advocacy groups, among professionals, and among patients and relatives
in educational programs provided by mental health facilities. A 38 page Discussion Guide is included.
